Marvel Announces Phases 5 and 6: Here’s What Fans Can Anticipate

Kevin Feige, president and primary producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, released Marvel’s upcoming timeline at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Phases 5 and 6 will span over the next three years, with fifteen new movies and series being produced. Marvel disclosed the show titles for every upcoming project to the public, including their release dates. Fans can expect continuations of their favorite movies and series, along with brand new stories on screen.

 

Phase 5 starts the upcoming projects with twelve of the fifteen movies and series being created. This phase will kick off in 2023 with “Ant-Man: Quantumania” being released on February 17, 2023. A Disney+ show called “Secret Invasion” will be released in the early spring of 2023. The continuation of a fan favorite, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will be released on May 5, 2023. A brand new Disney+ show called “Echo” is expected to release in the summer of 2023. Season 2 of the Disney+ show “Loki” is also expected to release in the summer of 2023. “The Marvels” will hit theaters on July 18, 2023, with the returning characters Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Spectrum.

 

Returning in the fall of 2023, phase 5 will pick back up with “Blade” on November 3, 2023. The new Disney+ show “Ironheart'' is also expected to premiere in the fall of 2023. Another new Disney+ series “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” will release in the winter of 2023-2024. Expected to release in the spring of 2024, “Daredevil: Born Again” will premiere with eighteen episodes on Disney+. Soon after “Daredevil: Born Again”, “Captain America: New World Order” will be released on May 3, 2024. The final project of phase 5 is “Thunderbolts”, which will premiere on July 26, 2024.

 

Phase 6 contains the final three of the fifteen projects fans can expect. Starting off phase 6, “Fantastic Four” is set to release on November 8th, 2024. Two of the most anticipated fan favorites will be released in 2025, starting with “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” on May 2, 2025, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on November 7th, 2025. Keven Feige confirmed that Anthony and Joseph Russo, known as the Russo Brothers, will not be returning to direct either new Avengers project. Marvel Studios have confirmed Destin Daniel Cretton, director of “Shang-Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings”, will direct “Avengers: Kang Dynasty”. Marvel Studios have yet to confirm the director of “Avengers: Secret Wars”.

 

Marvel fans have much to anticipate over the next three years. Marvel Studios and Disney have captivated Marvel Cinematic Universe lovers with their new storylines, timelines, and upcoming projects. Many fans are questioning the continuation of other fan favorites like “Moon Knight” which is yet to be confirmed by Marvel or Disney. Although, we have only seen the upcoming public projects. Marvel Studios is raising the bar for Marvel fans in phases 5 and 6.
